Humor Equals Profit

When advertising, you have to make your message memorable. There are ad campaigns from thirty years ago that still make people smile. Rodney Allen Rippey made advertising history for Jack-in-the-Box. He was cute and made people smile. What the fast food conglomerate knew forty years ago, still gets them sales today. Humor equals profit. If the marketing is funny, people will talk about it. Then the message goes beyond the television. It turns some companies’ ad campaigns into social icons.

For years, people ran around screaming “where’s the beef” because Wendy’s cranky old lady was so funny. She was a stroke of marketing genius, and that one line was the kind of profit builder most company’s just dream of. Today, we all stop to watch the Geiko lizard and his antics. We love to smile about what we buy. Even if you’re a small business with a small budget, it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t market. An eye catching and humorous ad campaign doesn’t have to be expensive. You could easily create your won YouTube commercials that are fun and funny. They don’t have to cost a mint to finance. They just have to be creative.

No matter the size of a business, marketing has to be a part of the business plan. If no one knows you exist, or even worse, if no one remembers that you exist, you won’t have any revenue. Try some humorous advertising and see if that doesn’t increase your profit. Not only will your customers appreciate it, but you’ll have fun doing it.
